Yuki Kato

Yuki Kato, MD, PhD is an orthopaedic sports medicine surgeon specializing in knee surgery, with a strong focus on regenerative and joint-preserving procedures, including ligament reconstruction and cartilage restoration. He trained as a Visiting Research Fellow at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC). Since 2018, he has served as Chief of the Department of Sports Medicine at Kameda Medical Center, Japan, and since 2025, he has also been Director of the Joint Preservation and Reconstruction Center. He is recognized as one of Japan’s leading clinicians in cartilage regenerative medicine and has extensive experience with autologous chondrocyte implantation using the JACC® platform.
