Prof. N. Dimitrov has been working in the University hospital “Prof. B.Boichev” for 28 wears. He is been a teacher at the Department of orthopaedics and traumatology to students and specialisants for 12 years.
He has a PhD on topic “Arthroscopical treatment of the ruptures of the rotator cuff of the shoulder”.
In 2018, he publishes the book “Muscular disorders of the shoulder” (BG, ISBN 978-619-91247-0-3).
On 2000 and 2001, he educated in Paris – University Rene Decart and University hospitals of Paris in the fields of the surgery of the upper extremity and the arthroscopy of all joints – the shoulder, the elbow, the wrist, the knee, the ankle.
He passes many qualifications –courses and stages in Milano – Italy, Anecy- France, Bordaux- France, Munich – Germany, Basel-Switzerland, Salzburg Austria, Napels – USA, Thessaloniki -Greece etc.
He deals mainly with the rotator cuff pathology. instability of the shoulder, elbow instability and stiffness, triangular complex pathology and avascular necrosis of the wrist, the tendon recovery- surgery of the hand .
The arthroscopic treatment of the chondral defects of the elbow, knee and ankle in adults and children is another field of scientific investigations in everyday working of Prof N. Dimitrov.
As an arthroscopic surgeon , he also deals with a problems of sports medicine , the ACL and meniscal surgery of the knee.
In the fields of the endoprosthetic surgery of the shoulder and the elbow, he is of the doyens in Bulgaria.
He is member of Bulgarian Association of Orthopaedics and traumatology, Bulgarian association of Arthroscopy and sports traumatology, World association of hand surgery, European association of hand surgery,
He speaks English, French and Russian.
