Trifon Totlis is an orthopedic surgeon and assistant professor at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, where he has been teaching bone – ligament – muscle anatomy to first-year students of the Medical School since 2007 and since 2017 in 7 postgraduate courses at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (including “Sports and health” MSc & “Regenerative Medicine and stem cells” MSc). He is an orthopedic surgeon at TheMIS Orthopedic Center in Kalamaria, Thessaloniki. Dr. Totlis and TheMIS orthopaedic center colleagues operate in “St. Luke’s” Hospital in Panorama, Thessaloniki.
He has undertaken clinical fellowships in hospitals abroad (Midwest Orthopedics at Rush University Medical School, Chicago, IL, USA, with Dr. Brian Cole & St. Anna Orthopedic Clinic, Herne, Germany, with Prof. George Godolias) and has been awarded scholarships for world congresses and courses (ICRS, Chicago, IL, USA; ISAKOS, Shanghai, China; AANA, Rosemont, IL).
He has been a co-team physician of PAOK football club, during the Superleague 2016-17, 2017-18, 2018-19 and is a consultant orthopedic surgeon in many teams of several sports and levels.
He is a board member of the European Knee Associates (a section of ESSKA), Vice President of the Regenerative Medicine Association of Greece and board member of the Sports Medicine Association of Greece and a regular member of several international and national scientific associations.
He is the author of more than 100 scientific articles, which have been published in reputable international and national journals. In addition, he is often a guest speaker at seminars abroad, mainly on knee diseases and injuries.
Finally, he was an athlete (basketball player) and his approach philosophy is “motion + function” = “quality of life”.
