Dr. Kyriakidis graduated from the Medical School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Then he moved to Brussels, Belgium, where he received his training in Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology at the Free University of Brussels. He holds a Master's Degree in Orthopaedics from the same University and a Master of Science in Health Policy and Planning. He obtained his Ph.D. from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki for his research on cartilage repair of the knee using stem cells, which resulted in numerous scientific publications. He is a certified medical doctor in Evidenced Based Medicine from the Free University of Brussels, and he has also obtained a diploma in Good Clinical Practice. He completed a Fellowship in Knee Surgery and currently works as a consultant knee surgeon at the Erasme University Hospital of Brussels, as an academic scholar at the 2nd Orthopaedic Department of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and in private practice.
He has co-authored various scientific publications in reputable academic journals and book series. He keeps abreast of related research and contributes actively to the field by serving as a reviewer for well-known journals. He is a member of the following international scientific societies: International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine (ISAKOS), International Cartilage Repair Society (ICRS), European Society of Sports Traumatology, Knee Surgery and Arthroscopy (ESSKA), European Knee Associates (EKA), Small Implant Focus Group of EKA.
