Dr. Bashir Zikria is the current Chief of Surgery at Aspetar Sports Medicine Hospital in Doha, Qatar. He also serves as Faculty as an Associate Professor at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland in the United States. He serves as the Director of sports medicine education and co-director of the Joint Restoration Program at Johns Hopkins. He is faculty for the Johns Hopkins Shoulder and Elbow Fellowship. He has over 90 publications, reviewer for several major journals (AJSM, JBJS, Arthroscopy, CORR, Knee, and several others) and edited several textbooks including Johns Hopkins High Yield Board Review.
Dr. Zikria serves as co-director of AAOS Sports Medicine Board Review for the last 15 years, with emphasis in Shoulder and Elbow, and is heavily involved in education. He is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, AANA, AOA (FAOA), and American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
